Summary

This was a project was authorised by lecturers and associates at HSBC. The brief was to create a mobile application for the private banking aspect of HSBC Bank.

The brief contained user personas as well as HSBC assets and brand tone. Using this information I used research methodologies to look into private banking aspect and it's components. After doing so, I used design methodologies such as low fidelity designs to construct the basis of the app and high fidelity to digitlize the content.

The process has taught me standard techniques used to convey thorough and enriching designs for users as well as explore how users can have a tailored experience using user personas and experience maps.

Responsibility

Discovery

Introduction:

We identified the main users of the private banking sector, gaining an insight into their needs, frustrations and areas of opportunities.

Process:

We laid out the data using a storytelling diagram and user personas.

Results:

We used a user-centred approach based on the discovery approach.

Responsibility

Planning

Introduction:
We created a Gantt chart to identify the phases and work required within each section. Having Time management was essential in ensuring that deliverables were submitted on time.

Process:
We prioritised the information based on importance from the business to kick-off other projects.

Results:
As a result, we were able to identify the responsibilities at each time frame.

Responsibility

Research

Introduction:

We analysed existing private banking sector apps by establishing the most common features used and identifying if this would be useful for the HSBC Private Banking app.

Process:

After identifying features/functionalities intended to be added to the app, I created a UX Architecture diagram to identify the user interfaces required to be designed and how the user flow would connect all pages together.

Results:

After creating the diagrams, I had set up the requirements for the user interfaces, ensuring that the user experience was at the centre of good design.

Responsibility

Concepts

Introduction:

To quickly iterate designs, I created basic sketches and digital low-fidelity designs to evolve the concepts.

Process:

The process had allowed me to identify challenging areas that would require design evolution. Data visualisation is key to ensuring that users consume information in an easy and efficient manner.

Results:

This had lead to cleaner and efficient designs that were ready to be designed as a high-fidelity product and prototype for users to test.

Responsibility

Designs

Introduction

I created user interface designs based on the research surrounding the user.

Process:

Functionalities such as fingerprint security, portfolio management system and banking perks were established in the designs.

Result:

The client was presented with the user interface designs. They were engaged with the result and we had forwarded the designs to be user tested amongst a small group of private investors at HSBC.
